One more Brand endorsement for Preity Zinta

Preity Zinta has bagged one more brand endorsement. She will now be seen in the marketing campaign for Airlines ‘GoAir’, with the tag line ‘Chalo India, Lets fly smart’.

The managing director of GoAir, Jeh Wadia, who also happens to be the younger brother of Preity’s long time boyfriend, Ness Wadia, finds the lady vibrant, young and innovative which matches the airline’s brand personality. The actress’ forthcoming flicks are Yash Raj’s ‘Jhoom Barabar Jhoom’ and Rituparno Ghosh’s ‘The Last Lear’.

Bobby Deol has a hard time while shooting for JBJ

It has come out that shooting for ‘Jhoom Barabar Jhoom‘ was not really a Jhooming experience for Junior Deol as his co-stars, Abhishek Bachchan and Preity Zinta, were so involved in their own private talks and fun that they sidelined Bobby and ingnored him completely. Though Bobby kept his cool and maintained a silent dignity on the sets, he could not hide his sourness completely and recently quoted in an interview,”I don’t remember having any fun on the sets while shooting for ‘Jhoom Barabar Jhoom’.

Well, the rising stars seem to forget their old pal. Abhishek and Bobby are childhood friends and Preity has worked in the early phase of her career with Bobby in ‘Soldier’. We would say this is not done on the part of Preity and Junior Bachchan.

Preity Zinta and Shiney Ahuja together for the first time

Director Jahnu Baruah (of Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara fame) is launching his next project ‘Har Pal’ which will bring together the pair of Shiney Ahuja and Preity Zinta for the first time. The film will be shot in the homeground of the director – Shillong.

Preity Zinta and Shiney Ahuja will be part of the 20 day Shillong shoot. Apart from the North Eastern hill station, the film will also be shot in Mumbai and Kolkata. Actress Dipannita Sharma and Big B will also make an appearance in the film.

Preity Zinta works on her own terms

The chirpy birdie in the Bollywood, Preity Zinta has made it clear that she works on her own terms. Few days back there was news that Preity has opted out of the Jahnu Baruah’s Hall Pall. And now it is heard that she is back but on her own terms. According to sources Preity was not happy with her dialogues in the film and so she wanted them to be reworked. The Delhi Times source says that “Preity’s arguments comes as a surprise especially because Honey Irani, who’s an experienced and awardwinning writer, has worked on the dialogues for this film. The sets, which were being constructed at Film City, were also put on hold during this time.”

Preity is starring against the new popular face of Bollywood, Shiney Ahuja in the film. The story is about the romance between these two neighbors.Preity’s secretary Tanuja Mehra told Delhi Times that “ Yes, she had opted out of the film but I’ve heard that she is doing the film now. I really cannot comment beyond this.”

On the occasion, the hesitant director Jahnu Baruah said “Every production house needs to work on things before they actually start their project. Some changes need to be done. Such things happen but we cannot call them problems, it’s part of the process.Preity is doing the film.”

Preity Zinta whistles and cheers for SRK

Seems veiling is in for celebrities. Mallika Sherawat wore one last year to dodge the media when she was coming out of the airport in Mumbai from a foreign jaunt. Himesh Reshammiyan too very recently ditched his cap for a Burkha to get into Ajmer Sharif Durgah.

Now, it is pretty Preity Zinta who wore it on the Independence Day to slip unnoticed into Bandra cinema hall to whistle and cheer for SRK in ‘Chak De India’.

Preity tells the story, “I could have seen the movie in the safety and comfort of a multiplex, but to gauge the reaction of the audience, I had to sit among the masses. I went along with my mom and cousin, hidden in a burkha, and because nobody could see me, I was at my buoyant best!”

According to the vivacious actress, in her disguise, she was able to scream, whistle and cheer along with the audience for SRK and his team of women hockey players in the movie.

Preity Zinta in ‘Heaven on Earth’

After Aishwarya Rai’s ‘Provoked’, there will be another flick on the tale of a young battered housewife stuck up in an abusive marriage. The film titled ‘Heaven on Earth’ will have Preity Zinta playing the role of the protagonist.

The movie, from Toronto-based filmmaker Deepa Mehta, is inspired from the true tale of a Punjabi woman named Amandeep, whose disturbing story Mehta covered in her documentary ‘Let’s Talk About It’. However, the name of the character in the film has been changed to Chand. Actress Seema Biswas has also been signed to play an important role in the movie. Produced by David Hamilton (Water fame), the film will be in English and the shooting will start from November.

Why Preity Zinta envies Manisha Koirala?

Preity Zinta is currently working in Jhanu Barua’s ‘Har Pal’. For the movie, the director requires a child to play Preity’s childhood days but finding the right face for the role has become a problem, coz they need a child who resembles Preity, has talents and above all, has prominent dimples on both her cheeks. Pretty girls with dimple on one cheek are still found but dimple on both the cheeks is a rarity. One option was Ayesha Kapoor (of Black fame) but her image after ‘Black’ is too strong. The shooting for the childhood portion of the film is on hold until the right girl is found.

“And we’ve to find her fast,” Preity is desperate, “I really envy Manisha Koirala. In Khamoshi: The Musical. Sanjay Leela Bhansali found a girl who was not only a pint-sized replica of Manisha but also as talented.”

The lesson for today: Having a Dimple is not all that Simple!

Preity Zinta captivated by the beauty of Punjab

Preity Zinta has been shooting Samir Karnik’s movie Mera Bharat Mahaan in Punjab.

Shooting on the outskirts of Chandigarh is a welcome change for Preity who is known for shooting most of her films abroad. And in this time of the year when Punjab has witnessed good rains in June and nature is lush green there, Preity is appreciating the beauty of the hinterland.
“Right now everything is so green and lovely in Punjab. It feels good to know one's own country,” Preity is quoted as saying.

Staying in the countryside, Preity has also been “hanging around cows and buffalos” and even feeding them sometimes. In fact, Preity is experiencing the life of a village belle as she also goes out in the fields to pluck jamuns.

However, shooting in Punjab has not been entirely hassle-free. While shooting a scene with her co-star Salman Khan , Preity hurt her foot when a nail cut a wound in the sole of her foot.

Apart from this, large crowds turn up to see the shooting of the film. The unit’s work is often delayed because of this huge gathering of fans on shooting sites.

After Punjab, the unit will continue shooting the film in east India.

Preity Zinta tying the knot with Ness Wadia?

The latest gossip doing the rounds is that Bollywood Preity Zinta is set to tie the knot with Ness Wadia, the great grandson of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan.

The award winning actress started dating Ness, son of Bombay Dyeing owners Nusli and Maureen Wadia, in February 2005, reports the Daily Times.

The couple’s relationship went through a bad patch earlier this year after singer Suchitra Krishnamurthy blamed Preity for her divorce with Shekhar Kapoor .

Krishnamurthy alleged that the actress was having an affair with her director husband.

The news of the wedding has come after several reports of cold vibes between Preity and Wadia's mother Maureen had been circulated by the media.
